According to a report by the official website of Grand Ayatollah Noori Hamedani, His Eminence called on Iran's foreign minister Dr. Javad Zarif here in his office today morning. Referring to some divisions in the foreign ministry as well as criticisms directed to it, he said, "I believe the internal divisions and criticisms should not be echoed in the foreign policy because they will be exploited by the enemy. We must maintain our unity in the face of the enemy."
His Eminence had the following five pieces of advice for Dr. Javad Zarif, the foreign minister of Iran:
- What need to be noted in the foreign policy are the three principles of dignity, wisdom and expediency as also emphasized by the dignified leader. Thanks are due to Allah, appropriate actions are taken in line with those goals.
- Our policy is based on Islamic and Qur'anic culture, and on this basis we continue to have our ties with other countries except the US and Israel and we must maintain our ties with them based on those principles. However, it should be noted that there is a difference between trusting countries and having ties with them. We must never trust them because, according to the Quran, the infidels would never sympathize with us because they seek hegemony and domination over others.
- The US showed, by pulling out of JCPOA, that it is never trustable and that the European countries also do not dare to oppose the US. Therefore, our position must be solid, and we must confront them because if we choose to have a soft approach, it will lead to blackmailing and exuberant demands on their part. Supreme Leader also said that wherever we had a soft approach, we lost and suffered. The US must not be trusted again.
- Today, Saudi Arabia is funding Islamophobia campaign launched by the US, Israel and the UK. Not only are they spreading phobia against Islam and Shi'ism but also against Iran. The foreign ministry must show the genuine image of Islam and Shi'ism to the world.
- We believe the foreign ministry officials are faithful, benevolent and hardworking individuals. I thank and support them. Just as Supreme Leader said Mr. Zarif is a committed religious person who is an authority for us.
